The Hooked on Books Club will meet on Tuesday, January 27th during the grade 3 and grades 4-5 recesses. We will be reading the 2015 Bluestem nominee “Small Steps: The Year I got Polio” by Peg Kehret.
I will send home the flyer the week that we get back from Christmas break. If you have the chance to borrow a copy from a friend or the library before then, please do. Many of our students have already read this and cannot wait to discuss it!
This week, we will be reading Christmas books in grades K-2 and catching up with “Wild River” in grades 3-5.
I hope that everyone has a happy and safe Christmas break. See you in 2015!
Thank you to everyone who made our book fair a success! Our students and parents seemed to enjoy the many wonderful titles that the fair had to offer. We did very well and will be able to buy many new non-fiction books for our library.
A special thank you to my volunteers: Diann DeSantis, Margaret and Gene Finnigan, Pat Pigoni, Adriana Fernandez, Elizabeth Geer, Eileen Moran, Ernesto Liendo, and Katie Doughty.
This week, we will get pumped up for our upcoming book fair!! The students will be watching book trailers for some of the books they will find at next week’s fair.
Remember, the book fair hours for this year are Sunday from 9:30-1:30, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30-4:00 and Tuesday from 8:30-3:00. We will NOT be open on Friday.
There will be a large selection of books to buy. Students will be able to shop during their library classes during the week and we will be open after school. We will also be open before and after some of the masses on Sunday.
By supporting the book fair, you will be helping us to purchase more great books for our school library. Books make wonderful gifts for children of all ages. Let us help you find the perfect gift!
